Make Music New York Every year on June 21st, professional and amateur musicians take to the streets to join the collaborative musical festival, Make Music New York.
Concerts, Concerts, Concerts! During the summer festival, more than 1,200 free concerts take place on streets, sidewalks, and parks in all five boroughs.
Concerto for Buildings MMNY shut down Greene Street in SoHo for the performance, which included musicians "playing" eight of the cast-iron building facades along with youth ensembles Face The Music and Mantra Youth Percussion.
Face the Music The Kaufman Center's Face The Music is the only youth ensemble dedicated to performing classical music created by living composers.
Mantra Youth Percussion Mantra Youth Percussion is dedicated to the creation and performance of 21st century music, fostering collaborations and creating high-level ensemble playing.
Composers The Concerto was written and led by four composers: Scott Wollschleger, Daniel Goode, Paula Matthusen and Elijah Valongo.
